The Boyer Family, Left to Right: Konrad, Kaitlyn, Amy, Kacey, and Jason

Told by Kaitlyn

Our story begins with my parents growing up on farms in Pennsylvania. They loved living on the farm and knew they wanted to provide this opportunity to their children someday. Due to the urban sprawl along the east coast, continuing the farming tradition had become very difficult for young couples. So, in 1995, married just a few months they left their family and friends and headed west along with a few purebred Limousin cows to the rolling hills of southern Iowa.

My twin brothers, Kacey and Konrad, and I love helping our family with the farm. Helping on the farm and with the cows has made me very passionate about cattle, limousin cattle specifically, and the agriculture industry. We all work together to raise healthy, efficient, and docile cattle to meet the demand for high quality Limousin beef and genetics.

Our farm isn't the only thing our family works together with. I have grown up helping my parents at our family business and our farm. At the age of 4, in 2001, we restored an original 1930's, hip-roofed, milking barn and opened the Harvest Barn Marketplace. Our country store started with fresh produce and country inspired gifts. We then added many other products and opened our pumpkin patch, corn maze and fun farm in the fall of 2003. Additionally we sell our Limousin beef and beef sticks at the Downtown Des Moines Farmer's Market. We all get up early every Saturday to head to market and promote our beef.

You can find our beef and other food products at our Osceola store and the Downtown Des Moines Farmer's Market every Saturday May thru December.

We are thankful everyday for the opportunity to offer you these exceptional products and genetics and have been blessed with the chance to carry on the wonderful tradition of farming and raising purebred limousin cattle.
